Studies have shown that vegans in the United States obtain enough selenium from their diet, but vegans in other parts of the world, where there isn’t as much selenium in the soil, might need to supplement. We have now drastically updated our Selenium article for vegans not in the United States.

What if one eats selenium rich foods grown/imported from the US,is that an option?
It seems like it could be an option, but you’d want to be sure the food is a reliable source of selenium. It’s probably more reliable to take a supplement.
